Cancer Research Day

Cancer, is an ongoing fight, and is we get older I am sure you will agree it seems to become an outspoken word. 1 in 3 people will contract this disease in one form or another, and the fight for a cure still seems like an endless battle. We can all sit back and hope we don't get it, but that will not prevent or cure this. It needs people to get together and help to raise funds for the ongoing research needed to fight this disease.

If you live in Tenerife, or are on holiday on the 2nd of March, there is a fund raising evening is aid of Cancer Research UK. Bernie Stapleton, a registered fund raiser for Cancer Research UK will be on the island to raise awareness and compare the evening. The venue is located just out side of Los Gigantes, and is called The Clubhouse Restaurant & Bar, home to the Tenerife famous Traveller Blues Band who will also be playing to help raise much needed funds for this charity.

The Evening will start off with a Champagne reception on arrival, followed by an lots of fun and games to help raise money. The Venue has kindly put on a Buffet Banquet, and the Traveller Blues Band will be playing all evening. Tickets are available from the Venue or contact the manager on 600 272 035. There will be a mini bus service for those people living outside of Los Gigantes, priced at 5 Euros each way again you will need to contact Adam on 600 272 035 to arrange your pickup point. If you live in Los Cristianos, the bus will be collecting from Dinastia Complex.

New Club Bus Service......

The new Live Music Steak House "The Clubhouse" have now started a bus service running from Los Cristianos, through all main areas to the Venue. This enables everyone who loves great music and great food to experience the only Clubhouse Venue in Tenerife.

The restaurant has a fantastic atmosphere with the smell of sizzling steaks filling the air, good friendlily staff and client-al and great live music. This Saturday will see the ret

urn of the Traveller Blues Band, and the start of the new Club Bus Service. You will need to contact them direct on 637 560 822 and arrange your pick up. If you have a large group the venue can arrange the bus for you, and reservations for tables....Just contact them direct they are all very friendly and speak English. It really is a great night out for residents and visitors of Tenerife, a little off track, but the setting is one of the most beautiful in Tenerife...

The Clubhouse - Restaurant & Bar - Tenerifes New Live Music Venue

The Clubhouse Restaurant & Bar Tenerife is a local retreat for Ex-pats and locals in Tenerife. You will find great food served with excellent service. The views from this hideaway are outstanding, both of the Island of Gomera at day, and the night sky at night. The venue itself is a well know LIVE music centre, hence it is a little out in the countryside, but still only 3-4 Euros in a Taxi from Los Gigantes. Just ask any Taxi driver to take you to the " Tag - i - naste" a word they are all familiar with and points the venue out to them. On arrival you will find a large car park, and amazing surroundings of the true Tenerife countryside. It is also a pleasant hike, if you have come on a Tenerife walking holiday, and a terrific Tenerife bike ride, if cycling.

All are welcome and you may even find the occasional Harley Davidson on the car park, as the ride from anywhere to this hidden sanctuary is amazing. Musicians use this venue as a local gathering on Sundays, with open mic sessions, and great food server all day. Local Band Have Worldwide Release with ITunes...

This small island in the middle of the Atlantic rarely sees local expats on the world wide stage. But local blues band Traveller are presently celebrating some fantastic news for them and the local music scene. Only yesterday they were informed that their debut single had been released by ITunes across its world wide network. Not only that but their producer and label had managed to get this single "The Crossing Roads" accepted by all major digital retailers across the world.This is a great step forward for the Traveller Blues Band but they have no ideas of jet setting off just yet.

The local Cabildo in Los Gigantes was also very impressed with the band, after they played the main stage and headlined the final day of events for Dia Del Tourismo. A full stadium danced into the night with familiar songs and well arranged classics from the like of Cat Stevens, Ralph McTell and many more.

The band are currently playing all over the Island and with their new hit, I am sure the journey has only just begun.
